A Monet painting stolen by the Nazis during World War II has been returned to its rightful owners.

The FBI recovered the artwork, titled "Bord de Mer," after it was discovered at a New Orleans gallery.

The painting was looted from Adalbert and Hilda Parlagi in 1940, and their grandchildren, Helen Lowe and Francoise Parlagi, received it on Wednesday.

The FBI says the piece had changed hands multiple times before it resurfaced in Louisiana.

The family expressed their gratitude for the painting's safe return.
