State legislators are still trying to figure out how to bring down auto insurance premiums in Louisiana.
On Friday, Insurance Commissioner Tim Temple said a lack of transparency is part of the problem.
The state's number of bodily injury claims is more than twice the national average. State law prevents juries from seeing the actual cost of medical treatment, as opposed to what was billed to the insurance company. Temple says that needs to change in order to prevent gouging.
A lack of competition is another factor in high premiums.
