A national survey says digital entertainment makes it hard for kids to get enough physical activity, especially in Louisiana.
The 2024 United States Report Card on Physical Activity for Children and Youth gives the state a grade of D-minus, the same grade as in 2022.
Biomedical researcher Dr. Katie Spring says the survey revealed more than three-fourths of children between six and 17 aren't getting the recommended 60-minutes of physical activity a day, and in Louisiana, that number is even higher.
Dr. Spring blames excessive screen time.
