The Louisiana-based nonprofit United Cajun Navy is shifting its hurricane relief efforts from Florida to North Carolina.

A spokesman says disaster response to Hurricane Milton in Florida has been efficient enough to allow them to turn their attention to North Carolina's victims of Hurricane Helene.

As of Tuesday, nearly 100 people were confirmed dead in North Carolina as a result of Helene, and almost 100 more were still missing.

Power outages are still widespread, infrastructure is damaged, and all sorts of supplies are needed.
