A woman is camping out in an Uptown tree in order to keep it from being removed.

Lynda Bermuda is sitting in a lawn chair she's placed in the tree's branches. She's equipped herself with four jugs of water, which she says will last for days.

Bermuda took up residence in the tree on Friday in an effort to block the parks department's plan to cut it down.

New Orleans police are threatening to arrest her, but Bermuda says she's sitting tight.

She claims the tree is her "spirit tree," and she doesn't know what she'll do if it's cut down.
