New Orleans Saints wide receiver Chris Olave was carted off the field and transported to a hospital after suffering a concussion during Sunday's (November 3) game against the Carolina Panthers.

"WR Chris Olave (concussion) is OUT for the remainder of the game. He has movement in all extremities and is being evaluated at Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center for further evaluation. @Saints," the Saints announced on their public relations X account.

Olave, 24, attempted to catch a high pass from quarterback Derek Carr before being hit by Panthers cornerback Chau Smith-Wade across the middle of the field during the first quarter. The game paused for several minutes as a motionless Olave received medical attention before being carted off the field.

Olave recorded one reception for 13 yards prior to the injury. The former Ohio State standout was the Saints' leading receiver entering Sunday's game with 31 receptions for 387 yards and one touchdown in seven games.

Olave has spent his entire career with the Saints since being selected No. 11 overall in the 2022 NFL Draft. The California native is coming off a season in which he recorded career-best totals for receptions (87), receiving yards (1,123), receiving touchdowns (5), games started (11) and games played (16) in 2023.
