Committee To Discuss Possible Changes To St. Tammany Parish Council

Some changes may be coming to the St. Tammany Parish Council.

A new Home Rule Charter Committee is scheduled to start meeting in January to discuss the council's size, staffing, and benefits.

At last Thursday's meeting, the council approved its four selections for the 11-person committee.

The committee is expected to provide the council its recommendations about potential changes by next May.

Voter approval would be required for any recommended changes to the council's 14-member makeup.
