The Pelicans are going to be without a member of their backcourt for a while.
According to ESPN, guard Jose Alvarado will miss the next six weeks of the season due to a hamstring strain.
Alvarado suffered the injury during the Pels' recent loss to the Brooklyn Nets.
He joins Zion Williamson, Dejounte Murray, CJ McCollum, Herb Jones and Jordan Hawkins as a key rotation player out with injury.
The 26-year-old signed a two-year, $9 million contract extension before the season, and is averaging 10.7 points, 4.5 assists and 2.2 rebounds per game.
New Orleans is last in the Southwest Division at 3-8 and visits the Oklahoma City Thunder tonight.
