A former employee of the Orleans Parish Sheriff's Office is in custody, accused of stealing $90,000 from the inmate trust fund.

Deputies arrested Labrina Lackey on Monday on seven felony counts, including theft, obstruction of justice, malfeasance in office, filing false public records, injuring public records, public contract fraud, and monetary instrument abuse.

Sheriff Susan Hutson says the agency's new chief financial officer Bianka Brown conducted an audit that discovered Lackey's reported scheme.
