New Orleans is getting ready for Super Bowl LIX and part of the preparation is the NFL's Green Initiative.
As the host city of the previous Super Bowl, Las Vegas passed the golden shovel to New Orleans on Wednesday.
Volunteers planted 32 trees on the Lafitte Greenway, one for each NFL team.
Michael Karam, the city's director of parks and parkways, says the project will help reach the city's goal of planting 40,000 trees by 2030.
