State Treasurer Announces Bid For U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy's Seat

Louisiana State Treasurer John Fleming is running for the U.S. Senate in 2026.

Fleming announced Wednesday that he'll be running for the seat currently held by his fellow Republican Bill Cassidy.

Fleming has been to D.C. before, having served as the representative of Louisiana's 4th Congressional District from 2009 to 2017.

He was also an advisor to President Donald Trump before he was elected last year to the position of Louisiana State Treasurer.
