A Metairie businessman has invented a non-lethal weapon to deal with school shooters

Rick Sinclair's Bopper Defense System is a double-barreled device that fires large darts filled with a material called fly ash.

The darts should stun and disorient a shooter long enough for teachers and students to get away, or for the police to take charge.

Sinclair says the Bopper is a good way to arm teachers who may not want to use guns.

He's offering them to school districts for about $1,800. So far, no takers.
