Rookie quarterback Spencer Rattler is starting for the Saints in Week 16 if Derek Carr is unable to play.
Interim coach Darren Rizzi confirmed on Thursday that Rattler provided a spark to the team after playing in the second half of their recent loss to the Washington Commanders.
The Saints initially started Jake Haener before making the decision to switch to Rattler.
In other news, running back Alvin Kamara could miss Monday night's game with a groin injury. According to ESPN, the injury is still being evaluated but it is potentially season ending.
New Orleans is third in the NFC South at 5-9 and will visit the Green Bay Packers on Monday Night Football.
