Louisiana State Attorney General Liz Murrill says she will publish guidance this week on how schools can comply with the state's new Ten Commandments law.

The law requiring Louisiana classrooms to display the Ten Commandments takes effect on January 1st.

A federal judge ruled last month that the law is unconstitutional. Murrill says the ruling only applies to the school districts in the five parishes named in the lawsuit challenging the law.

Those districts are in East Baton Rouge, Livingston, St. Tammany, Orleans, and Vernon Parishes.

Murrill says schools in the state's other parishes aren't affected.
