New Orleans City Council members are wondering why one of the city's top security officials missed their first meeting since the terror attack.

Homeland Security director Collin Arnold wasn't present for the joint meeting of the Public Works and Criminal Justice committees on Wednesday.

Arnold's absence was referred to several times during the meeting.

Committee chair Oliver Thomas says Arnold had been invited to speak. Arnold says he hadn't been invited to the meeting and didn't even know about it.
