The St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office is reporting a traffic stop near Slidell that resulted in the largest fentanyl bust in the department's history.

Deputies pulled over an SUV two weeks ago on Dr. T.J. Smith Sr. Expressway near Highway 11. A search of the vehicle turned up five pounds of fentanyl hidden in the sunroof, about 16,000 pills disguised as Oxycodone.

Deputies also seized $1,500.

Two Pearl River men in the SUV were arrested for drug charges and traffic violations.
