New Orleans City Council members are pushing back after Mayor LaToya Cantrell backed out of a school funding deal.

Cantrell pulled out of a $20 million settlement with NOLA Public Schools that resolved a long-running legal battle over tax revenue.

Several council members joined city, state, and education leaders for a news conference on Monday morning.

Cantrell has traveled overseas at least eight times in the past two years. Council members say that's over with.

The council will hold a meeting next week to enforce the deal.
