The Louisiana Department of Health is altering its messaging about vaccines for COVID-19 and the flu.

The state surgeon general issued a memo to his staff on Thursday to stop promoting mass vaccinations.

Dr. Ralph Abraham says mistakes during the pandemic concerning masks, vaccinations, and school closures undermined confidence in public health care.

Dr. Abraham's comments came the day Robert F. Kennedy Jr. was sworn in as the nation's Secretary of Health.
