The Trump administration is announcing a major expansion of Venture Global's LNG plant in Plaquemines Parish.
Energy Secretary Chris Wright and Interior Secretary Doug Burgum toured the plant on Thursday, joined by Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry.
To the cheers of hundreds of workers, they announced an $18 billion expansion to the $23 billion facility, which is built to withstand a Category 4 hurricane.
Wright said Louisiana should soon export more LNG than any nation in the world.
