Crawfish season is underway with Louisiana Lt. Gov. Billy Nungesser's pardon of Huval the crawfish.
The ninth annual pardoning ceremony was observed on Tuesday at Pat's Fisherman's Wharf Restaurant in Henderson.
Nungesser said Louisiana is the nation's largest producer of crawfish, to the tune of about 150 million pounds a year.
The lucky mudbug was named after Pat Huval, founder of Pat's Fisherman's Wharf Restaurant and the first mayor of Henderson.
