Severe Weather Threat Ramps Up On Saturday

Residents across southeast Louisiana are urged to be prepared for severe weather Saturday.

The National Weather Service New Orleans/Baton Rouge office says there is significant severe weather outbreak likely, with tornadoes, damaging wind gusts and large hail all possible as storms move through the area ahead of a cold front.

"Scattered to numerous severe thunderstorms are expected to develop beginning Saturday morning and continuing into the late evening hours," said the NWS.

Conditions will be much improved on Sunday.
