Rosie the Riveter lives, and she spent part of the weekend in New Orleans.
The name was collectively applied to about six million women who worked in factories nationwide during World War II.
Eighteen surviving Rosies were honored at the National WWII Museum at an event organized by the Gary Sinise Foundation. Some of the women are now more than 100 years old.
After watching a film about their contribution to the war effort, they were led on personalized tours of the museum, followed by a luncheon and reception.
