Louisiana Voters Reject Four Proposed Constitutional Amendments

Gov. Jeff Landry is expressing disappointment after Louisiana voters rejected four constitutional amendments in Saturday's election.

Amendment 1 would have authorized lawmakers to create new specialty courts. Amendment 2 would have provided tax relief and teacher pay raises.

Amendment 3 would have added to the list of crimes for which juveniles could be prosecuted as adults. Amendment 4 would have amended the system for filling judicial vacancies.

Landry said on Sunday that the state is "conditioned for failure."
