For the second time, New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell's administration is backing away from providing financial help to the Orleans Parish School Board.

Chief Administrative Officer Gilbert Montaño negotiated a deal last fall to provide the board $90 million over the next 10 years.

Cantrell backed out of the deal early this year, claiming the city couldn't afford it and Montaño wasn't authorized to make the deal.

Last month, a judge agreed that there was no deal, but ordered the city to pay $10 million that was already budgeted.

The administration is now asking the judge to reconsider that order.
