Victims Of Small Plane Crash In Lafourche Parish Identified

Officials are identifying a man and woman who were killed in the crash of a small plane between Raceland and Houma on Wednesday night.

A Cessna owned by Southern Seaplanes went down around 8:30 p.m. in a marsh north of Highway 182 near Highway 90.

Lafourche Parish officials say the bodies of the pilot and passenger have been recovered.

The victims are identified as Lyle Panepinto, the owner of Southern Seaplanes, and Lauren Menkemeller, who was training to be a pilot for the company.
