A third-party security review says Bourbon Street should be a permanent pedestrian zone to ensure public safety.

The New Orleans Police & Justice Foundation hired former NYPD Commissioner Bill Bratton and Teneo Risk to prepare the report following the deadly New Year's Day terrorist attack on Bourbon Street.

After studying the lay of the land during Super Bowl LIX and Mardi Gras, the report stated that turning the area into a pedestrian plaza with limited vehicle access is the only way to prevent more vehicle ramming attacks.
