Gov. Jeff Landry says he wants the state legislature to do something about high insurance costs this year.

Speaking Wednesday at a press conference at the Capitol, Landry laid responsibility on both the insurance companies charging high premiums and the trial lawyers promising big payouts.

The governor expressed impatience with the sluggish results from last year's legislative session.

Louisiana has some of the highest auto and property coverage costs in the nation.

The 2025 legislative session convenes next Monday.
