A Louisiana shrimper is suing Walmart for using a picture of his boat without permission to advertise imported shrimp.
George Barisich says a photo of his shrimp boat appeared on a poster in the Walmart Neighborhood Market in Meraux above a cooler filled with frozen shrimp from Indonesia and Ecuador.
The lawsuit filed Thursday in St. Bernard Parish claims Walmart broke state law by using a Louisiana image to sell imported seafood.
Barisich says imported shrimp is putting Louisiana shrimpers out of business.
