The Metropolitan Crime Commission says a particular New Orleans criminal court judge is costing the city a fortune with his inefficiency.

A new report ranks Judge Darryl Derbigny dead last of a dozen judges in terms of how many open felony cases are on his docket, how many of them are more than a year old, and how long it takes his courtroom to resolve them.

Taxpayers are reportedly forking over millions in police overtime and jail costs as a result.

Derbigny has been on the bench since 2002.
