State health officials are confirming Louisiana's first measles case of 2025.

The Louisiana Department of Health announced on Saturday that the patient is an unvaccinated adult living in Region 1, which includes Jefferson, Orleans, Plaquemines, and St. Bernard Parishes.

The patient will remain in isolation until no longer contagious.

Officials say the case appears to be connected to international travel, as opposed to the outbreak in west Texas.

They're trying to alert anybody who may have been exposed to the patient.
