Charges Upgraded After Teen Victim Of Amite Shooting Dies

Charges are upgraded against a suspect in a shooting that wounded two teenagers in Amite on Monday.

One of the victims died Wednesday after suffering a gunshot wound during a fight near South Fifth Street and MLK Drive.

Amite City Police say 18-year-old Natajaa Williams of Hammond was arrested on two counts of principal to attempted first-degree murder.

With the death of the victim, one of the charges is now upgraded to principal to first-degree murder.
