The New Orleans Police Department is honoring several officers for their response to the Bourbon Street terror attack on New Year's Day.

The officers were on the scene just minutes after an attacker drove a rented truck through a crowd of people celebrating the holiday.

Sergeant Nigel Daggs, Officer Christian Beyer, and Officer Jacobie Jordan received the Medal of Merit on Thursday morning in a ceremony at Gallier Hall.

The officers said they just did what needed to be done.
