Powerboat races are returning to Jefferson Parish next month for the first time in nearly 20 years.
Powerboat P1 is adding Lake Pontchartrain to its 2025 Triple Crown Series, June 27-29.
The event is free and open to the public, and will feature a boat poker run, speed trials, a boat parade, food vendors and live entertainment.
The Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office is working out extra parking and shuttles to bring hundreds of people to the races.
The event is expected to bring customers to local hotels, restaurants, and businesses.
