John Foster of Addis, Louisiana, is the runner-up in Season 23 of American Idol.
The three remaining contestants competed on Sunday night. Foster and Jamal Roberts from Mississippi went on to become the two finalists, and when the final vote was taken, Foster came in second.
His home town is still proud of him.
Sunday night's program featured a segment from John's Welcome Home parade in Addis and his waterfront concert at Bayou Plaquemine last Wednesday night.
