William Tate Leaves LSU For Rutgers, Dr. Matt Lee Named Interim President

Dr. Matt Lee takes over as the interim president of LSU.

Lee is stepping in with current LSU President William Tate leaving to become the president of Rutgers University in New Jersey effective July 1.

LSU officials will launch a search for Tate's permanent replacement.

Dr. Lee has served as LSU's Vice President for Agriculture and Dean of the College of Agriculture since 2023.
