Three More Escapees Recaptured Outside New Orleans, Two Remain At-Large

Three more of the escapees from the Orleans Parish jail are back in custody after their recapture on Monday outside of New Orleans.

State Attorney General Liz Murrill says Lenton VanBuren Jr. was arrested in Baton Rouge. Louisiana State Police say Leo Tate and Jermaine Donald were rounded up in Walker County, Texas, north of Houston.

Gov. Jeff Landry praised the Louisiana State Police and the Texas Department of Public Safety in an X post on Monday.

Only two of the ten inmates who escaped on May 16 are still at large: Antoine Massey and Derrick Groves.
