Louisiana lawmakers are considering a bill that would allow insurance companies to offer discounted policies to customers who agree not to sue them.
The proposal is intended to lower the state's high property insurance rates, and it's nearing final approval.
Supporters say the bill gives consumers more choices, but it's raising legal questions among insurance agents.
The House has approved the bill, and the Senate was going to vote on it Sunday night. The Senate read the bill by title and returned it to the calendar, subject to call.
