A stolen toy poodle is back home after being missing for five days.
A week ago, somebody stole a car in Chalmette with the 17-year-old dog inside. Deputies later found the car and arrested Shanda Norton on Wednesday.
She was charged with auto theft, vandalism, and cruelty to animals, because she told deputies she abandoned the dog in the Lower Ninth Ward.
A local resident found Fannie Mae, who is deaf and partly blind, and took care of her until she could be returned to her owner on Saturday.
