CVS Caremark is facing a class-action lawsuit over alleged political text messages to Louisiana residents.
Texts sent last week urged people to oppose a bill being considered by state lawmakers which aims to regulate pharmacy benefit managers.
CVS Caremark is a pharmacy benefit manager owned by CVS Health Corporation.
CVS customers report being texted that CVS locations in Louisiana would have to close after House Bill 258 passed.
The lawsuit filed by Broussard, David & Moroux claims this was a use of confidential patient information in violation of patient privacy laws.
