Several events are recognizing the Juneteenth holiday today.
Armstrong Park will host several events, a ribbon cutting for a new art exhibit at 9:30 a.m. and a NOLA Juneteenth Festival hosted by the Afro-Indigenous Society starting at noon.
The Goretti Park Juneteenth Festival also starts at noon with live music and games expected.
In addition to events today, more celebrations are planned for the weekend.
