A man is accused of killing his mother in an Opelousas crime police call "deeply tragic".
Police found the woman's body in a trash can under a home's carport on Saturday.
Aaron Lloyd was arrested for allegedly injecting 65-year-old Lisa Lloyd with meth and beating her.
Lloyd is charged with first-degree murder, aggravated second-degree battery, obstruction of justice, failure to seek assistance and distribution of schedule two drugs.
