Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill is asking the state Supreme Court to speed up the executions of five death row inmates.
Murrill filed a writ to the high court on Wednesday in an effort to expedite the executions and to develop clear standards for cases in which an inmate waits for decades to apply for relief from his sentence.
The inmates in question are Larry Roy of Rapides Parish, Antoinette Frank of Orleans Parish, Marcus Reed of Caddo Parish, and Robert Miller and David Bowie, both of East Baton Rouge Parish.
