State officials are reminding Louisiana residents to drive sober during the upcoming 4th of July holiday.
The Louisiana Highway Safety Commission's "Drive Sober Or Get Pulled Over" campaign gets underway today and continues through July 6.
The state agency says more than a thousand people died in drunk driving accidents in Louisiana between 2019 and 2023. Police encourage people to use a rideshare service or a designated driver.
Attorney General Liz Murrill says she's supporting this week's campaign.
