Orleans Parish Sheriff Hutson Expected To Resume Reelection Campaign

Orleans Parish Sheriff Susan Hutson reportedly plans to resume her re-election campaign.

Hutson suspended her bid several weeks ago, following the mass jailbreak from the Orleans Parish jail.

The escape of ten inmates from the jail in May resulted in public outcry about Hutson's job performance.

The largest escape in parish history also led to state and federal investigations and criticism from city and state leaders.

Nine of the ten inmates are back behind bars, and Hutson is expected to qualify for re-election.
