The New Orleans Coroner's Office is looking for someplace else to perform autopsies because of an air conditioning outage.

The coolers in the morgue are working, but the A/C is out in the autopsy area and other parts of the building.

Coroner Dr. Dwight McKenna says he's asked LSU's autopsy facility in New Orleans if his team can use their space, possibly as soon as today. He may check with the Jefferson Parish Coroner's office as well.

McKenna says the backlog of 20 autopsies includes some homicide cases.
