NHC Once Again Circles Potential Tropical Development

After battling extreme heat to start the week, rain chances will be on the rise for south Louisiana to end it as an area of low pressure moves through the Gulf.

The set-up is similar to last week but the National Weather Service office in Slidell says outside of increased storm coverage and rainfall totals, no significant impacts are expected.

The National Hurricane Center has put development chances on the low end as of Wednesday afternoon.

"Regardless of tropical cyclone formation, locally heavy rainfall is possible for portions of Florida over the next day or so, and for the northern Gulf coast through this weekend," said the NHC.
