Louisiana residents will be allowed to have darker tint on their car windows starting on August 1.
The state legislature overwhelmingly voted to approve a bill that reduced the amount of light allowed inside a vehicle by tinted front side windows from 40 percent to 25 percent.
Rear side windows are already allowed to limit light to 25 percent, and back windows are at 12 percent. No tint is allowed on most of the windshield.
Exemptions from tint restrictions are allowed for documented medical conditions.
