The state now has a new vendor to update the obsolete software system of the Louisiana Office of Motor Vehicles.
Gov. Jeff Landry announced on Tuesday that the state had reached an agreement with CHAMP Title. CHAMP also provides services to several other states
The $30 million deal is expected to take two years to complete.
Landry's office says that's a savings in both time and money over the existing vendor.
The governor declared an emergency last March after the OMV's system suffered statewide outages.
