Planned Parenthood says it's pulling the plug on its last two Louisiana clinics because of the political climate in the state.

The organization's New Orleans and Baton Rouge clinics are scheduled to close on September 30.

A statement from president and CEO Melaney Linton said the closures weren't voluntary, but are the result of ongoing legal and political pressure from state officials and lawmakers

Louisiana passed an abortion ban after the US Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade in 2022.
