The criminal trial of former New Orleans 911 Director Tyrell Morris is delayed more than a month.

The trial was scheduled to start on Tuesday, but a judge reset it for September 22.

Morris is accused of falsifying documents and impersonating an officer after a 2023 crash in his public vehicle. He's charged with tampering with public records and malfeasance in office.

Morris was a candidate for mayor of New Orleans until a judge disqualified him last month for falsely stating that he'd filed state income tax returns for the past five years.
